Mothers day makes! - Incld. Card tutorial

bouquet stick jan cls  mum card orange butterfly front
I want to share the mothers day bouquets and cards we gave to our mums this year.
I have also shared the process in making the cards and Flower stick 'Mums'
To make some extra special, extra large bouquets for my mum and MIL (and to save spending a fortune on flowers buying pre-made fancy bouquets). I purchased lots of different, various, bunches of flowers and made two large bouquets out of them, here is one of them.

Making the Bouquets:
The vintage style Butterfly wrap was made by myself and Lilly (our 3 year old) to make it extra special :)It was old inner packing material, the type that protects items in their boxes. We stamped the wrap with 2 different sized butterflies from the gorgeous Stampendous Jumbo Butterfly Trio stamp Set and covered the paper in cello wrap. The ink used was an archival ink.

It didn't matter that the paper was a bit wrinkled or that Lilly couldn't quite get the hang of 'keep the stamp still' lol, because it just added to the vintage feel.
The 'Mum' stick (in the flowers), were made from MDF and had my mum and MIL's names down the side.
Here they are in their raw forms after being laser cut.

I first painted them with a couple of coats of white paint.

How to wrap like a 3 year old……

I can’t help but share this,
Lilly (my 3 year old) likes to package orders up like mummy hehe :)
Bless our wonderful post office guy, he took it in and assured her it would be posted (and pretended to put it in the post bag).

Tim Holtz, Me and a new blog!!

tim holtz & me

Good morning everyone,
Well today is the first day of my new and shiny blog, which you can find HERE.
You are reading this on my old blog Little Pear Tree, which sadly became neglected when I really started focusing on my little business :( This was partially due to the lack of time to blog and more importantly because I had nothing exciting and really crafty to blog about!!
I was super busy with creating new products and dealing with lovely customers, that I stopped colouring, stopped 'playing' with all my crafty goods and became all about the business.

Tim Holtz CHSI

But this is a new year and a new me and as my website was launched a month ago, it has given me a new platform to start a fresh new blog.

I have realised that I need to craft for my sanity lol, how many of you can relate? In fact I started crafting originally for my sanity, so it seems madness to stop!

I need to start doing the really fun things again and more importantly I loved sharing what I did and how I did it, with others :)

I also never get in front of the camera (hands up if your the same), but I was lucky enough at a recent trade show to meet Mr. Tim Holtz and get a photo snapped with him, I shared it on social media (unheard of for me!!) and ...... To read the rest of the post please click HERE to be taken over to my new blog, where there is also a link to a video where Tim Holtz is demonstrating UPO and Alcohol inks.

HALLOWEEN TREAT BAUBLES!

I love Halloween even though its not as widely celebrated here in the UK as it is in the USA, so I wanted to share a recent make that had me getting in the spirit of Halloween :)

BROOM PARKING

I made these cute baubles in 3 different designs and they are filled with treats (or you could use small toys etc) and a spookily funny joke.

I used a clear bauble that separates in half, some vinyl for the designs on the baubles outer casing and some old bright orange cord which i think really finishes them off.

BOO

GOBLIN FEET

What do you think?

Thank you for taking the time to take a peek.

ADVENT CALENDAR CARDS

So today I'm sharing another order. This time it is based on a TV show sample I created last year (you can find my post on it HERE). I have instead of having generic words on at the bottom, added names so that the cards become fully personalised.

Behind each little door is a Christmas Character or Christmas Item.

Inside is a large sentiment in matching font.

And the cards are ready to pop in a nice shimmery envelope.

Thank you for stopping by.
