Morning all, it's my turn to host the Artbymiran Blog today. It's my first time and this is my first showcase project :)
Our theme this month is 'Green for St Patricks day'
I had so much fun colouring this image. All of Mirans digis are truly gorgeous and really make me want to colour them, I really can't wait to get onto my next one...hehe.
I hope you all like my little mermaid, I thought she would be perfect for the green theme :)
Here's a closer look. I've tried to add some texture to the towel in her hair and make it look fluffy and to her tail, by hopefully making part of it look like scales.
She is coloured using Promarkers. Although the bubbles look uncoloured, they are actually highlighted with a really light blue, I just couldn't seem to pick it up with the camera. The side of the bath is coloured and the swirly pattern has then been painted over with green perfect pearls to give it a really nice shimmer and shine.
I added some seaweed style swirls for corner pieces, which were coloured with peacock feather and vintage photo distress inks and I added some little bubbles, that were coloured with tumbled glass distress ink.
The background was so much fun to do and hopefully looks like bubbles. First I coloured a piece of card with a few different coloured distress inks. Whilst this was drying I cut out a bubble template (purchased from the silhouette store) in a quite thick card.
Once the background was then dry, I used the bubble template as an embossing tool and ran this and my background through my bigshot. It left a really nice embossed effect over the background. To then highlight the embossed bubbles a little further, I gently rubbed some gilding wax all over and then buffed it up. It really has created a lovely effect of shimmery bubbles.

I've made this card for a friend who's having a bit of a rough time at the moment and is waiting for an op. So the sentiment reflects this and is written into a bubble, which i cut using the silhouette and then mounted using a 3D foam pad.
This is a full close up of my image, isn't that little rubber ducky adorable..hehe...
I popped some perfect pearls around the bottom corners and that was it card finished.
