CHOCOLATE COFFEE & CARDS CHALLENGE #70 - FOR THE BIRDS

Today is my post for Chocolate, Coffee and Cards and our sponsor this fortnight is the adorable Meljens Designs

The theme for this challenge is 'For the birds' and the image I used was Fancy Swirls Peacock. 

It's my birthday at the end of this month, so hubby very kindly (OK I got them and then told him they were from him lol) treated me to some Wink of Stella and Wink of Luna pens!!

I'm not really a glittery person, but the Wink of Stella give such a fantastic shimmery sheen and the brush nibs are just wow to use. So this is my very first attempt at using them, I'm not sure if you can see just how shimmery the Peacock and branch are? If anyone has any hints or tips with these pens, please feel free to let me know below :)

The Peacock feather was cut using my silhouette and coloured using my new pens :) The background layer was created using the discard from the feather being cut out, as a stencil with distress inks and versamark and then clear embossed. The rest of the background was then coloured with distress inks.
