MILKCOFFEE CHRISTMAS/WINTER SHOWCASE CARD

Hey everyone,

Well this card is three firsts for me. Its my first DT post for the fabulous MilkCoffee, my first card with a ‘proper’ background and my first Christmas card of the year!

I am a very excited new member of the showcase team over at MilkCoffee and this is my first card, it was made using the gorgeous digi 'Lisbeth and Mr.Deer' You can find it HERE. What do you think of them? They are adorable aren’t they :)

I’m in love with just about every digi MilkCoffee have, they are all so beautiful and are so much fun to colour.

Why don’t you come take a look at our other gorgeous Showcase creations HERE and why not join in our fab fortnightly Challenge HERE.

I loved this image so much that I wanted the whole card to be all about the image. I’ve outlined images before with a little band of colour or a little bit of grass etc, but I’ve never done a full blown background before. So again I decided to challenge myself and have a go at a background!

This background sky is created fully with Promarkers and I struggled (messed up lol) the snow on the ground, so ended up tearing paper, edging with a little distress ink and layering it to create the effect and depth of snow. I was quite pleased with the finished result, but I’m sure with a bit of practise my backgrounds will get better :)

Some of the little snowflakes have had glitter glue added for a little bit of sparkle, along with Lisbeth's head band. However the photos don't really show the sparkle.

The image itself is also coloured with Promarkers. The little sentiment tag was created in Silhouette software and I colour matched it to the paper, which was from my stash.

The poinsettia flower was a cut file I created in the silhouette software, cut out, then shaped and glued together, with a little bit of sparkle in the centre, added by a little diamante, finished with a couple of flourishes I had sitting in a pot, that were left over from another project :)

Materials Used:

Paper from stash
Diamante
White cardstock
Lisbeth and Mr.Deer digi image
Promarkers
Tim Holtz dsitress ink

I hope you like it, don't forget to go check out MilkCoffee's stamps for yourself, I'm sure you'll love them just as much as I do :)

Hugs
x
