I wanted to try and do something different with this image and thought a bit of Zen doodling would be fun :)
Now this is only my second attempt at Zen doodling and I definitely need a finer nibbed pen..lol...But I still like how she looks.
I did use a Sharpie ultra fine nib pen, but its no way fine enough to get enough detail into the doodles and I found lines of the doodles still merged together because the nib was to wide.

Here is a close up of the doodles on Blowing Bubbles
I filled each strand of her hair with doodles and random bubbles with doodles. I then used a pencil to try and add some shade. However I started using a normal pencil as I didn't have anything else and that's not good lol, it doesn't really blend well and left little lines everywhere that wouldn't smooth out! Then when I was near enough finished my eldest daughter managed to find some proper artist pencils that she had, so I tried to use these, much, much better to use. But I just wish I had had them at the start lol!
I would recommend giving this a try to anyone as it is soooooo relaxing and you really do get absorbed in it, for anyone starting out or even those who have already tried it. I would highly recommend the site Tanglepatterns as this gives wonderful step by step instructions and diagrams on different doodles. You click on a letter and it will give you a list of tangles for that letter, click on the one you want to try and when it loads up it will either have the step by step there or somewhere in its narrative it will say about someone who has done instructions, with a clickable link, click and there will be your instructions (Hope this helps as I didn't want people getting lost when visiting the site...hehe..)
