MARINE CORPS ENGAGEMENT CARD

I have now finished the engagement card I was asked to make. :)

The request : To make an engagement card that incorporated the fact he was in the Marines and for it to be personal i.e.names

So I decided to go with the Marines Logo, this really is a great logo and was nice to work with.

I first took the logo as an image and uploaded it into my silhouette software, after doing all my bits and bobs to create a print and cut file, with an offset border, I then added their names into the scroll the eagle was holding and wrapped the word 'Engaged' around the bottom right of the world. I then printed and cut it out.

The logo is generally seen in silver and gold, I was going to do the whole thing in silver and gold gilding flakes, but thought that may look a bit OTT!! So settled to colour the silver areas and add gold gilding flakes for the gold areas, so that it had a bit of something and popped.

Cream areas are sticky backed adhesive sheet

I also embossed the names with a clear embossing powder, so that they had a nice little sheen and coloured the scroll in to look like old parchment paper.

I also decided to offset the gold gilding, with just a little silver gilding and that was for the word 'engaged' so that this also stood out.

This was then placed onto the front of an A5 card I had folded, to finish it off I drew a grey border (hard to see in photos) around the A5 front and this is the finished card.
