CC&CC - #59 TEDDY BEARS

Today is my post for Chocolate, Coffee and Cards and our sponsor this fortnight is the wonderful Ladybug Crafts Inc.

The theme for this challenge is 'Teddy Bears' and I'm sure you will all love this theme :)

To join us for this challenge and to find all the details please visit us HERE.

The image I used is Baby Billies bear. Two teddies in one...hehe...

To be able to achieve the colour and texture I wanted for Billie the teddy, I wanted to use my distress inks to colour him. However I don't own many distress inks and they are all the sort that are in the form of a pad!

But I decided to give it ago any way and was quite happy with the results. It certainly was a very different way to colour and even though I didn't have many colours, it is quite easy to build up the darkness/shade using the same colour over itself.

If you have never given it a go, I would definitely recommend it, it was easier than I thought, even though I could definitely do with some more practise hehe

I coloured Billie and his teddy and then framed them with a frame cut using Spellbinder dies, I thought the cute little hearts all around were a sweet touch :)

The frame was edged with distress inks.

The image and frame were mounted onto two different colours of torn mulberry paper, that hopefully look soft and fluffy.

I popped a button in one corner and a blue tiny peg in the other.

Materials Used:
Mulberry papers from stash
Distress inks
Promarkers
Peg from stash
White wooden button - Hobbycraft
Spellbinders dies

I really hope you come visit us at CC&CC and play along with our challenge, I can't wait to see everyone's creations. Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's projects, wowie they are fab and sooooo cute :)

  1. This is such a clever design, Sam. The mulberry paper has a babby blanket/nappy feel to it (odd statement I know but I think you get what I mean). Your DI colouring is great. I'm still experimenting with mine! xx
