2ND POST FOR ARTBYMIRAN - CERIDWEN

Hey Everyone, it's my turn to host the Artbymiran Blog today with my second project of the month :)

Here is the card I made using the gorgeous digi image Ceridwen

Our theme this month is 'Green for St Patricks day' and although this project could have been anything goes, as my first project followed the theme, I thought I would still try and stick to a greenish theme as Ceridwen looks perfectly at one with nature and all things green :)

Not only did I have great fun colouring this beautiful digi, but I had great fun making my own background again!

I wanted a background with earthy, green tones, but that was also elegant and beautiful like Ceridwen.

The very back of the card is a page from an encyclopedia, torn, inked and slightly curled. It is aptly a page on nature and trees, which you can see by some of the wording (I thought this was a nice added extra).

The next layer was so much fun to do and relatively easy.
First I coloured a piece of card with a few different coloured distress inks.
Once the background was dry, I used an embossing folder to run this and my background through my bigshot. This left a really nice embossed effect over the background.

To then highlight the embossed parts a little further, I gently rubbed some gilding wax all over and then buffed it up. It really has created a lovely antique but elegant sheen over it all and the embossing really stands out.

Here's a closer look at the beautiful Ceridwen.

I popped  a stamped sentiment in the corner and created mats for both this and the image with my shiny new 'perfect layers tool' that I was lucky enough to get using a certificate that I won recently :) It was so simple to use, I don't know why I didn't have one before! Hehe...

And that was it card finished.

Don't forget to visit the Art by Miran shop to see all the wonderful images.
