TOP TIP TUESDAY CHALLENGE - USE 3,5 OR 7

Its Tuesday and that means its challenge time over at Top Tip Tuesday. This fortnight the theme is 'use 3, 5 or 7' and there are some great template tips on the main blog! I even managed to do a hopefully easy to follow tutorial on converting templates to cut files with a silhouette. You can find a separate post on this HERE and a PDF download with the instructions HERE.

Our sponsor this fortnight is the cute and fun Zlatoena and the adorable image I used was Kick some grass / Spring is here (hehehe you've got to love the image name alone ;p)

Well this card is nothing like it was going to be, I had flowers and cutesy paper and bits for the background in mind, but then at the last minute I realised that although I made my father in laws birthday card some time ago, that I put it aside and then forgot to make his 'grandad' card!! Big Oopps...lol

Now I've been very limited to time recently as my hubby has been doing lots of late night work from our garage when he gets home, which means I've been unable to pop out to my crafting pit as I am calling it at the moment, (yes it resembles a pit...lol..A pit of cardboard and junk all everywhere!)

So as I had to get my DT card finished and a grandad card created I decided to alter my plan and try and make my cute bunny look manly..lol

Blue nose and blue paws help right? and I know he will melt at a picture of his youngest granddaughter making a funny smiley face ;p

I kept the flowers in as least girly colours as possible and tried to pick a relatively masculine DP that also went with the image.
I coloured him with my Promarkers and decided to keep him white, just using grey to highlight any shadowed areas.

I popped on 3 little clouds, all with faux stitching (all those wonderful stitched creations form last week have given me the bug for it :p) Butttttt....The faux stitching was meant to print out on it in black and actually came out really light grey, so i had to go overall the little lines in pencil!

And the word 'Grandad'

The card was meant to have the bottom section as a freestanding part that stuck out from the card, but it was to floppy and wouldn't stand up properly, so I ended up adding an insert inside and then supporting the front level with foam pads to old it away from the back of the card as i really wanted the little bunny to look like he was sitting forward from the background.

Then like a wally, I for some reason cut the backing paper too short, )even though it started off the perfect size!!) and so had to find something that wasn't to girly like pink ribbon, to cover up the huge gap I had now left at the top!
Thankfully I had some washi tape that did the trick and matched OK!

So all in all a bit of a nightmare but I do love this little bunny he is so sweet. :)
