VISIBLE IMAGE - APRIL TAGS CHALLENGE

Pinch, Punch, First day of the month :)

What a glorious sunny day today in the UK and we have a glorious new challenge for you over at Visible Image this morning.

The challenge theme for this month is ‘Tags’ and wowie the DT have made some wonderful creations, you can see them all HERE.

I wanted to share my steampunk ‘tag’ Using the fabulous Edgar.

I created my tag by distressing the edges of some card and layering it all up. For the top layer, which is DP I ran it through my bigshot with a cogs embossing folder. I then helped highlight the cogs, by using a little guilding wax, gently rubbed over small sections.

I used the fab small rose stamp from the Isabella lost love set and stamped it onto the same DP as the cog layer.

I cut a raven out of some black card to match Edgars Raven and a butterfly (as I’m sure they’re steampunk! Hehe) out of an old and washed, aluminium can :)

I then painted the back of this gold and used the retro dot background to stamp some spots directly onto the front of the butterfly, once the ink had dried I used a little more guilding wax to lightly cover over the dots and highlight his body and wing tips.

The pocket watch is another button pocket watch, I had so much fun making the last one and loved it so much that I decided to do another, you can find more details on how I made it in my older post HERE.

I used the sentiment stamp from the Thank you set and edged it with distress ink, with a few retro dots randomly stamped over the corners to give it a scruffier look.

Edgar was stamped in black Archival ink and heat embossed, he was then coloured using Promarkers.

I added a bit of paper twine at the tag top and glued everything together.

And that was it, tag made :)
