VISIBLE IMAGE - FUNKY GLUE HOLDER

Hey everyone :) Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Today is my weekly post for Visible Image Stamps

I had so much fun creating this :) I have been meaning and needing to make a holder for my glues/stickles for a while now, I don't have many, but I hate going to use them and them taking forever to come out, or having air bubbles in them that then spit all over my work :( So what better than a holder that holds them upside down ready for use.

1. Using my silhouette I cut out all of the pieces to make the glue holder. Before bending and sticking it all together I decorated it.

2. I covered the whole thing in random colours of paint, no particular order, I just made sure everything was covered. In some areas i dabbed the paint on thickly with the brush to create some texture. This was then left to dry.

3. I took the stamps I wanted to use, in this case Inkognito Flower, Create your future and retro dots background and randomly stamped in black Archival ink straight onto the colour. In some areas i used acrylic paint on my retro dot stamp and stamped thickly and lightly so that this also added more texture.

4. I had cut out some embellishments, some arrows and a birdcage and painted these when I was doing the base.

5. Once the stamping was dry I put the glue holder together.

6. I stuck the embellishments on where I wanted them.

7. I coated the whole thing in a bitumen solution (AKA the Tarmac Technique) and once this was dry, sponged areas off to reveal the now muted colours underneath.

8. To finish I lightly rubbed some guilding wax over sections to highlight texture and shapes.

Once it was all dry it was ready to use :)

  6. I need one of these, like RIGHT NOW!!!! How fabulous, Sam, and so clever! I’m of the ‘shake the bottle till it splats all over the desk' variety of crafter (yes I take the top off the bottle to see if it’s getting any closer to coming out while still shaking it)! This would solve a lot of cleaning up and wasted product! And it looks so amazing too!! xx
