WRYN SHAPED LOLLIPOP CARD

TiddlyInks DT Call

OK, so I'm probably so far out of my league on this one, barely started blogging, barely started crafting/Colouring and I'm taking a huge leap entering into a chance to be part of a wonderful design team.

I know my chances are pretty slim, especially when you see the fabulous entries other people have submitted (some are beyond excellent!) but as they say, you've got to be in it to win it and who knows, maybe the wonderful peeps at Tiddly Inks are after some fresh blood, that's learning and experimenting all the time, perhaps my newness to it all will help inspire other budding crafters that think something looks to complicated or difficult to give it a go!

This would be a wonderful opportunity and great honour for me, as the weekly submissions will really push me and give me something to get my creative juices flowing, plus Tiddly Inks have the most gorgeous and sweet digis to work with, that are really fun to colour and use. I have lots to improve on, but it would be great to do this alongside a team of dedicated people that I can learn from and work alongside. This would truly put my nice new craft room to great use and make all my husbands hard work getting it ready for me, more than worth while :)

There are a few criteria they need potential people to meet, I can truly say I can meet all of these including being selective about the design teams I am on – This is my first application and if I got a spot, I would be happy dedicating my time solely to Tiddly inks (and my friends and families cards of course)

Anyway I had super fun creating a few projects with one of their images, as there's nothing better than having a challenge to work for to really get your creativity going and its been a great chance to see all the other wonderful entries and add a few more people to watch/follow onto my ever growing list!

Good luck to everyone and I hope you enjoy my creations :) x

I used Summer Sweet Wryn, as she was one of my first digital downloads to try colouring (not just from Tiddly Inks, but from anywhere!) You get the beautiful Wryn, an Extra Lollipop and two great sentiments.

I wanted to show just how versatile and easy to use Tiddly Inks Digital Images are.
So from just one image, I have created three very different designs. You can make very simple cards that look absolutely beautiful, because the stamps (Digi and physical) are so easy and lovely to work with.

................................................................................................................................................

For my Main project I decided to make a Wryn shaped card with a yummy Lollipop. You often see children's cards with badges, but I thought this would be a little different and a great idea. I certainly know this would go down a treat (pardon the pun!) with my niece and nephew.

This card was very easy to make and I had great fun colouring it, as it is much bigger than the normal sized image of Wryn I use (19cm tall!).

Materials needed:

  • Promarkers - You can use any colours you want or you can use the favourite colours of the person you are making this for. If you want to see a list of the colours I used please click here.

  • White Card

  • Lollipop

Creation:

I use Silhouette software to size, print and cut my digital stamps, but you could use any software that enabled you to re-size and print.

I took sweet Wryn and her fab sentiment and put them together ,this created the front of my card. I then mirrored Wryn and duplicated the sentiment, this created the back of the card. (As shown below).

I drew a border around the two of them, creating the overall shape to be folded and then cut around this border. That’s it card made! How simple was that, leaving lots of time for all the fun bits :o)

I spent lots of time lovingly colouring her in and decided that as the back was in fact not the back of Wryn that I would colour the 2nd image in different colours.

Then came the treasure hunt - Finding a traditional rock style Lollipop was harder than I thought, only all the ‘olde worlde’ sweet shops seemed to stock any and these were all too big for dear little Wryn, but all the hunting made the final treasure of finding that perfect sized Lolly even more satisfying.

Treasure in hand after that wonderful find, I returned home, lovingly took Wryn out of her box and and fixed her sweet treat over one of the lolly’s she is holding. I then printed out an extra arm, curved it a little and coloured this to match the skin tone. I then used this to make Wryn actually look like she is holding the Lollipop.

Cute and Scrummy, Wryn is good to go and I think would make any little girls (and some big girls ;p ) birthday even more special.
