It's Tuesday....And it's challenge time at Top Tip Tuesdays :) Yet again we have a wonderful sponsor, and that meant the challenge was so much fun to do :)
Our sponsor is Stamp Fairy and the image I used is Mimi Winter - The theme this challenge is 'snowflakes'
This is such a fun wintery image, I just love that snowman's big floppy hat...hehe...
I decided to do a mixture of paper piecing and colouring. I haven't paper pieced for a while and its soooo much fun. So the following pieces are all DP's - Snowman hat (except band), Snowman gloves, Snowman nose. Mimi hat (except bobble and band), Mimi scarf and Mimi main part of dress.
Tip: Paper piecing is a great way to make an image nice and colourful, even if your not confident in colouring your own images. It is also an easy way to add texture or to match your image to papers used elsewhere in your project
The rest of the pieces of the image were coloured using Promarkers.
I added a little glitter to the snowflakes in the image and for my snowflake background, I cut different snowflakes out of white card and then mounted this onto some blue mirri card, so that I was left with shiny blue snowflakes peeking through :)
The image and sentiment were mounted on blue then red mirri card mats.
I forgot what a nightmare Mirri card is to photograph, Argghhh!! So I've got lots of very to bright shiny or too dark not showing the colours off photos...lol..
I have added the best ones (yes...sadly these are the best...lol) and that's why in some the mirri card looks black and in some the colours show.

Love this, Sam. Great paper-piecing (I love this techninique but don't use it nearly enough) and great colouring. Such a clever idea with punching the snowflakes out and adding the mirri behind. Fabulous! xx
