OK so the theme over at Top Tip Tuesday this fortnight is 'girly' and thats a difficult one for me to do! Some of my cards do turn out looking a little girly, but its not normally a theme I set out to do hehe.
Our sponsor this fortnight is the fantastic Heather Ellis and the image I used is Pure Innocence 17 . If you pop over to the main blog you will also find some gorgeous flower tutorials, I know I will definitely be giving a few a try :) There is the most adorable pink one that really made me chuckle...See now you want to go see don't you, :p ...hehe...
As this cute little girl looks as though she is in the garden, I wanted to be looking at her through a window, but to try and make it a little bit more girly, I made a fancy style torn window. This is a technique I have been wanting to try for a while and I was relatively happy with how it turned out. I will definitely be giving this technique another try :)
I made a triple bow with some bargain ribbon I got a little while back, my first attempt at one of these too...hehe...
I tried to keep the colours simple and to different tones of bluey/green and pink only.
The Butterflies are cut using a sizzix die I got with my bigshot. I covered them both in co-ordinating inks and then smothered them with some glitter.
All around the edges of the card there is a thin layer of white paint and I then stamped onto this with versamark and brushed over some matching perfect pearls. The stamps used were a little watering can and flower, as these images matched in with the main image. The perfect pearls have a beautiful shimmer and shine.
I also stamped the back of the top DP, so that when it was curled outwards you could also see the stamped images.

This is a fantastic design, Sam. Love the torn 'window', it's really effective and your glittered buttierflies look fab! And that bow........well what can I say about that bow..... it's GORGEOUS! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane :) I need a little practice but was happy with how it turned out. It was fun to make. The ribbon was a real bargain its such nice quality and was on sale for 50p for a 3m reel as it was shown as Christmas ribbon...Lol...I mean I know you can use it for Christmas, but theres nothing looking as though it should be Christmas only. The butterflies were so easy to make and yet so much fun, i was very sparkly at the end though...hehe..xx
