I used the beautiful image 'Scooter with flowers'
Don't ask me why but for some reason this image conjured visions of a beautiful summers day in France and then for some reason when I think of France I think of quaint little cafes (Hmmm must be the food aspect lol) and that then makes me think of sweet little chalkboards outside. And hence this card was born...hehe...
The background paper is a digital paper from the 'Unchatered Waters' set. It already comes with the wonderful chalked sentiment and chalked flowers in opposite corners.
For the image there are a few ways to create the chalk effect, but this is how I did it:
Using the silhouette software (which is free for everyone to download and use, even if you do not own a silhouette - You can find it HERE) I uploaded the image into the software and using the trace facility, I traced the entire image.
This then creates a line around each side of every line of the image (so in effect for every 1 line of image you get two trace lines, the inside and outside of the original line!) This then means as you have two lines with a hollow centre you can delete the original image and fill the traced image lines with a colour of your choice. I opted for white :)
I then placed it over the digital paper. I positioned and sized it as I wanted and then printed it out. (If anyone would like further step by step details on this, please comment below or message me and I will do a photo tutorial)
Once printed I used a white pencil to create the shadow effect around random lines of the image and also swiped it on its side, across parts of the paper to look like chalk residue left across the board. I made a black and white flower to match and to finish it off. I made this by stamping a random black pattern over white cardstock, cutting out numerous heart shapes with a Sizzix die and then sticking them together to make the flower, a couple of oval shapes cut from the same paper, created some little leaves.
