MY SISTER IN LAWS SECOND CARD

It's just gone midnight and I'm all finished up for my Sister in laws second birthday card, I'm so happy with how the colouring went.
I had my first attempt at shadowing around the actual character and my first attempt at adding and colouring a proper background image.

The really annoying thing is, I seem to end up taking all my photos of a night time when I have to use the flash and it makes all my cards look different to what they actually are :( It makes them either look washed out or to bright!!!!!

I need to practise my card photo taking skills and more importantly I need to try and finish things a little bit earlier so that I can take photos during the day.

I was hoping to enter this into a few challenges and the shame is, I misread a couple of the closing times and missed entering it, but please see below for those I did manage to get it into.

My theme was pinks, greys and turquoise, with a cutesy outdoors garden feel.

I used my Silhouette to cut each layer and to add the faux stitching around the edges of some of the layers.

I printed a make it crafty background onto a piece of heavyweight paper, before then cutting it out into a circle and using Black Memento ink (doesn't smudge when colouring) to stamp on a L.O.T.V girlie fairy. Once fully dry, the background and fairy were coloured in using Promarkers.

The further most background is grey vine type leaves, followed by a turquoise check layer, then a pink checked layer with a petal pattern cut into it, backed with glittery pinky/peach card so that bits of the glitter show through the cut outs.
Then it was my coloured topper, edged with Tim Holtz Tattered Rose distress ink, just to help it stand out from the layer behind it. And lastly I added the sentiment strip and a heart with the faux stitching reading Aunty and some stitched hugs and kisses on the edge of the heart.

    1. Thank you so much, I was so happy with her, that the last thing I had left to colour was her hair and I was so nervous I would mess it up (what with still being so new to colouring) that I actually contemplated leaving her hair white....hehe.....
